Title: LOVE IS A VERB AND NOT NOUN
Love is a strange thing. It can be the most amazing feeling in the world, or it can really hurt, but in the end love is something most, if not all of us, will face. While there are many different ways to define love and there are many different ways to love someone. There is too much anger and frustrations that leads to cruelty and love has faded or seems to have been forgotten. In hassle and bustle of city life−styles, chasing after material world, love within one’s family and within the world has often been neglected.
LOVE reminds me a lot of my childhood which full of tears. Parents fighting day and night, I will always be the one who hiding at the corner with silent tears in my eyes. I will always wondering does love really exist in my family, if yes, why they never care about the feelings of their child? People used to express how they love a person by saying “I Love You”, but do you really do it? Love is a verb, not a noun. We should always realize that love can be lost and we will have a greater appreciation of what we have. Think how lucky we are to have someone to love. Love is something that could not define by monetary value.
The devastating tsunami of Dec. 26, 2004, shook the faith of religious people the world over. They wondered what kind of God would kill 200,000 people in a single stroke. "God didn’t do it; he just allowed it," some say. When something bad happens, we want someone to blame. When the bad thing is a natural disaster, there is no one left to blame but God. People ask, why does a loving God let such thing happen? I have another question at the same time, do you really concern about what has just happened? When someone we love grows old and dies of "natural causes" we accept it as the way God has designed the creation—there is a time to be born and a time to die, but when someone we love dies before growing old, we ask, "Why would God allow this to happen?"Most of the people felt that they are the ‘lucky’ one as they never get involved in such disaster. There are only few of them trying to help the victims in tsunami. We should expect nothing in return if we really love a person. We should expect that giving love does not guarantee receiving love. Try loving just for the sake of love.
If we cannot love another person without attaching stipulations, then it is not love at all. Since a very long time ago, people have searched for the meaning of love. But even the great philosophers, with their profound definitions, could not fully touch its true essence. What is Love? It is a very subjective question as it does not have any true meaning to define it. For me, love is a true feeling from the bottom of our heart.
